The Ferroli MINI5 is an instantaneous (tankless) electric water heater providing hot water on demand at the point of use — with zero standby heat loss and no stored water to maintain. Rated at 5 kW at 220–240 V, it is compact enough to fit in the tightest under-sink spaces at just 197 × 210 × 117 mm and 1.5 kg. Ideal for cloakrooms, office washbasins, secondary sinks, and any location where a storage cylinder is impractical, the MINI5 ships with a built-in electrical cable and carries a 2-year warranty. No G3 certification is required for installation.
The MINI5 is an instantaneous water heater — it is not an unvented storage cylinder and does not require G3 competency for installation. Plumbing connections are simple ½" BSP. Electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician to a dedicated fused spur rated for a 5 kW load, in accordance with IET Wiring Regulations.
With instantaneous heaters, outlet temperature depends on cold inlet temperature and flow rate. At 5 kW with a 2 l/min flow rate and 10 °C incoming cold water, the MINI5 can deliver water at approximately 46 °C — ideal for hand washing. Higher flow rates reduce the temperature rise. This unit is designed for single-point hand-washing use, not showers or bath-filling.
The MINI5 heats water only when the tap is opened — electricity is consumed solely on demand, eliminating the standby losses associated with storage heaters. This makes it the most energy-efficient option for low-frequency or single-outlet use, particularly cloakrooms and secondary sinks used intermittently throughout the day.
At just 197 × 210 × 117 mm and weighing only 1.5 kg, the MINI5 is among the smallest instantaneous water heaters available. It mounts easily under a sink, inside a slim vanity unit, or in a cupboard — anywhere with access to a cold-water supply and a 5 kW electrical circuit.
The MINI5 ships with a pre-fitted electrical cable ready for connection to a dedicated fused spur. Water connections are ½" male BSP, compatible with standard UK plumbing. The unit is rust-free with a shockproof casing, requiring minimal installation effort and long-term maintenance.
An adjustable thermostat allows the user to set outlet temperature to preference. The unit operates across a supply pressure range of 0.8–6 bar and requires a minimum flow rate of 2 litres per minute to activate — compatible with standard UK mains and boosted low-pressure supplies above the minimum threshold.
